Monday, as is often the case, came in hot this week. Not “hot” like a fresh donut—more like a dumpster fire full of paperwork and disappointment.

Work hit me like a freight train before I’d even finished my coffee: a mountain of issues, a year’s worth of progress wiped out like someone hit CTRL+Z on my entire existence, and I’m staring down the barrel of an investigation and a doctor’s appointment on top of it.

By 9:00 a.m., I was ready to turn in my adult card and crawl back under Sunday’s cozy spiritual blanket.

From Sunday Morning Peace to Monday Morning Mayhem

You’ve heard it before, right?
“Don’t leave your faith at the altar. Don’t just be a Sunday Christian.”
Pastors love to remind us that the same heart we lift in worship on Sunday is the one we’re supposed to carry into Monday.

Heck, there’s even that worship song “Monday Morning Faith.”
It sounds great on paper—or on a stage with perfect acoustics and coffee-scented lighting.

But let’s be honest:
Monday sucks.
It’s not always doubt that creeps in—sometimes it’s just the sheer noise of life that drowns out the peace.

I don’t lack faith.
I know what I believe.
I know who I serve.
What I often lack is Sunday morning peace.
That sweet, Holy Spirit-wrapped quiet where the world feels small and God feels near.

So What Do We Do?

The truth is—we can have peace on Monday.
But it’s not going to feel like Sunday’s mountaintop moment.
It’s going to look more like peace in the storm, not instead of it.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
—John 14:27

Peace isn’t found in our circumstances.
It’s found in Christ, in the stillness that comes not from everything being right, but from knowing He’s right there with us when it all goes wrong.

That wrecked project? He’s still with you.
That investigation? He’s your shield.
That anxiety about tomorrow? He’s already there.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
—Isaiah 26:3

Practical Monday Peace (Because Just Saying “Have Faith” Ain’t Enough)

  • Start with worship, even if it’s five minutes in the truck before work. No band, no lights—just you and God.
  • Pray brutally honestly. Don’t fluff it up. God can handle your raw.
  • Find one verse to carry all day. Write it on a sticky note, or your hand, or your forehead if necessary.
  • Laugh. Seriously. Joy is a weapon. Use it.

Conclusion: Peace Is a Person, Not a Feeling

We don’t chase Sunday vibes—we chase Jesus.
And wherever He is, peace follows—even if it’s Monday, and even if everything’s on fire.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
—Matthew 11:28

So yeah, Monday might be for the birds… but even the sparrow has a place in His hands.

Closing Prayer

Lord, You are the God of Sunday peace and Monday chaos.
Help me to carry Your presence through the mess, to find joy when I’m overwhelmed, and to trust that Your peace isn’t just for quiet mornings—it’s for the storms too.
Thank You for never leaving, never failing, and always showing up—even on a Monday.
Amen.

Find five minutes today. Just five.
Turn off the noise, breathe deep, and invite Jesus into your Monday.
Then go out there and wreck the chaos with peace.
